Mother's Day: Foodie Guide

1. Ortinola Great House & Cocoa Estate is a great place to take Mom on Mother's Day. The Great House is kept in excellent condition and visiting feels like you're in the past. It is a very serene place to take a stroll on the grounds or to meet with loved ones in the old-fashioned sitting room before or after Lunch. Their food is delicious and their chocolate divine.

2. Dianne's Tea Shop is a favourite of mine and always a great choice to bring your Mom. Their food, service and ambiance is always on point. It is a cheerful tea house fit for a Queen. They have a special Mother's day Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch and Tea Service Menu. Be sure to get in your reservations early because this place is always a big hit every year!

3. Aioli Restaurant located in Elerslie Plaza is a fine-dining restaurant that boasts freshly-made pasta and natural flavours. Everything is prepared in house by their talented chef and assistants. They have a special Mother's Day Menu that will delight your Mom's taste buds. You can also request a four-course Tasting meal that will take you on a culinary journey. What a Surprise that will be!

4. Pêche Pâtisserie is a wonderful Cafe located in Chaguanas. Their talented chef brings a whole new meaning to the french term Gastronomie: The Art of Cooking and the relationship between Food and Culture. The pastries and dessert served here are the best I've tasted in Trinidad & Tobago. Bring your Mom for some of the most divine creations you'll ever see on a plate.

5. Taste Vinoteca recently opened its doors in Maraval Plaza to bring us great food and great wine. If you're a lover of wine like myself and want great food to pair your faves with then this is the place to be. Don't be fooled their taste dishes are anything but ordinary so if you're an adventurer when it comes to your taste buds then be sure to take your best bud! (Mom) Ha.
